       Dorothea Ann Valencic., 89, formerly of Valencic Drive in Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville.  She had been a resident of St. Paul’s in Greenville for the last four years.

       Born March 13, 1927, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of William and Victoria Barczykowski Szymkowiak.  She married Frank S. Valencic Jr. on November 20, 1945; he preceded her in death on December 17, 2010.   

       She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover, Ohio and St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.

       Dorothea was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Natrona Heights.  She was a straight A student in spite of losing her mother at the age of ten and having to help raise her younger sister and attend to the housework.    

       She owned and operated Valencic’s Dairy Delight in Espyville for many years.  She and her husband Frank loved tending to their rose gardens where they had 62 hybrid roses. They donated many vases of flowers for the altar at their churches.    

       Dorthea was a loving and devoted homemaker who raised five sons.  Survivors include her four sons, William F. Valencic and his wife, Dian, of Wickenburg, Arizona, A. Thomas Valencic and his wife, Sharon, of Washington, Illinois, R. Timothy Valencic and his wife, Rita, of Linesville, and Robert Valencic and his wife, Kelly, of Erie; the loving companion of her late son Jaime, Dana Graham of Edinboro; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Dolores (Totsie) George of Hubbard, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.      

       She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank S. Valencic Jr.,and a son, Jaime Valencic.

       As per her request, cremation was chosen. 

       A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. 

       The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 505 Poplar St., Suite 310, Meadville, Pa 16335 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
