William Petronio Sr. Obituary

     William Petronio Sr. was born November 7, 1927, in Pittsburgh, to Joseph, Sr. and Marietta (Scarnati) Petronio.  He passed away February 20, 2022, at his home in Espyville with his loving family with him.  Bill was 94, and hardworking.  His body finally retired.

     He graduated from Connelley trade school in Pittsburgh.  He married Louise Nolan on July 20, 1948.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1951 until honorably discharged in 1953.

     He was a father to William Jr., Michael and Susan Polito and raised William Randall Petronio, grandson.  Brother to Frank, Edward, Louis, Joseph, Arthur, Ronald, Marie McElhinney, Raphaela Mueck, Virginia Sanders and baby Raphaela, all siblings are deceased.   

     William was a plumber working at Pittsburgh Water Works and belonged to Plumbers Union 27.  When he moved permanently to Espyville, he helped build the Albion Prison and then worked and retired from Talon. 

     He belonged to the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club, Linesville American Legion Post 462, Espyville United Methodist Church, transferring to Trinity Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake.  He was a Mason belonging to Infinity Lodge No 546, Pittsburgh and Syria Temple Shriners.  He was a 32nd  degree Shriner and visited Pine Lodge in Linesville.

     Bill loved to hunt and fish and was Louise’s right hand, working and helping with church and fireman’s dinners, RSVP Projects, especially Toys for Tots. 

     He loved being on the small farm and enjoying his life in Espyville. 

     As per his request, he will be cremated and there will be no visiting hours or service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).
