Steven Lester Watson

     Steven Lester Watson, 65, of Linesville, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, after a short illness. 

     Born June 22, 1954, in Meadville, he was the son of Richard and Faith (Waring) Watson.

     Steve was a 1973 graduate of Linesville High School.   He owned and operated Watson Auto Service in Linesville for 35 years.

     He was an avid NASCAR fan and attended many races.  Along with his brother Jeff and his dad they raced late models at many area racetracks.  Steve loved boating, four wheeling, and camping at their family camp in Tidioute, Pennsylvania.    

     Survivors include his mother, Faith Watson of Linesville; a daughter, Jennifer Young (Tobias) of Alliance, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jordan, Tobias, Alayna, Renee and Karman; three sisters, Pam Kennedy (Chuck) of Wexford, Cindy Snow of Linesville and Marsha Kintyle of Meadville; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Tim, Whitey, Dan, Wayne and Debbie. 

     He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, a brother, Jeffrey and many aunts, uncles and cousins.   

     A celebration of his life will be held at noon Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club, 3642 W. Erie St. Ext., Linesville with Pastor Brenda Loucks officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service.  A luncheon will follow.  Please come and celebrate Steve’s life and share your memories.    

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pymatuning Sportsman Club, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
