Ruth Evelyn (Devore) Bentley

     Ruth Evelyn Bentley, 88, of Espyville, passed away following a year-long battle with lymphoma surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at her daughter's home in Brooksville, Florida.

     Born February 7, 1933, in North Springfield, she was the daughter of Arnold and Nina (Howland) Devore.  She married William (Neil) Bentley on May 26, 1956 in North Springfield. 

     Ruth worked as a Registered Nurse at Greenville Hospital and retired in 1995.  She was an extremely active member of the North Shenango Presbyterian Church in Espyville serving for many years as Clerk of Session.  Ruth enjoyed golfing in her spare time and spending time with her cat Harley and dog Mia. She was famous for her canned salsa and tomatoes and homemade pies and always remembered birthdays and milestones with a card and meaningful note. 

     Survivors include her loving husband, of 64 years, William (Neil) Bentley; two daughters, Geri Godina and her husband, Frank, of Espyville and LuAnn Lobins and her husband, Craig, of Conneaut Lake; a son, Scott Bentley of Zelienople; three grandchildren, Todd Lobins and his wife, Allena, Tracy Moore and her husband, Jake, and Sarah Bentley; a great-grandson, Liam; two step-grandchildren, Cory Godina and Chad Godina and his wife Shellie; and a sister, Norma Turner and her husband, Dale, of North Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Rachel Bentley; two sisters, Alice Siders and Mary Mundkowski; and a brother, Gary Devore.

     A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the North Shenango Presbyterian Church, 10377 Church Road, Espyville.  The family will receive friends before the service from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.

     In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions may be made to the North Shenango Presbyterian Church, 10377 Church Road, Espyville, PA  16424, or The Western PA Conservancy.
