Richard Hartzell Obituary

     Richard Franklin Hartzell, 90, of Linesville, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, in Meadville, PA.  He was born August 13, 1930, in Hawthorn, PA, the son of Richard and Blanche (Radaker) Hartzell.  He had been a long time resident of Linesville, PA.

     He was a graduate of Stevens Trade School, Lancaster, PA, and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War.  Just prior to entering the Army, he married Donna Smith on December 14, 1951, in Girard, PA.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, Richard was employed with Reliance Electric and retired with 42 years of service.  He was a proud man with a strong work ethic.  In his younger years, he liked to hunt and fish with his boys and in his later years he enjoyed Monday family nights and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

     He is survived by his four sons, Randall (Sandra) Hartzell, Estero, FL, Ronald (Tammy Sterling) Hartzell, Guys Mills, PA, Gary Hartzell, Cochranton, PA, Brian (Leanne) Hartzell, Andover, OH, his daughter-in-law Belinda Hartzell, Sarasota, FL, grandchildren: Kristy Arrigan, Thomas Hartzell, Kylie Hartzell, Jennifer Hartzell, Karissa Hartzell, and great-granddaughters: Meghan Arrigan and Amanda Arrigan; sisters, Wilda Prince, Albany, GA, Pauline Wilson, Pulaski, PA, and brother Robert Hartzell, Oxford, FL.

     He was preceded in death by his wife Donna on November 19, 2020, son, Denis Hartzell, grandchildren Karla Hartzell and Chad Hartzell, and sisters Maxine Fike, Rebecca Hartzell and Jane Hartzell, and a brother William Hartzell.

     At Richard's request there will be a private graveside burial.  He has requested no flowers. Robert Gears will be officiating.  Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery, Wallace Avenue, Linesville, PA.

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
