Margaret Irene (Southerland) Ankenbauer

      Margaret Irene Ankenbauer, 95, of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at WellSpan York Hospital in York, Pa. 

     Born January 31, 1928, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Russell and Elizabeth (Irvin) Southerland. 

     Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Irvine Chandler and Teresa Marie Balcom; a son, Jack Russell Balcom; a sister, Dorothy Leedy Peters; a brother, Russell Alexander Southerland; two step-daughters; a step-son; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews.

     The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from noon until 1 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Burial will be in McMichael Cemetery in East Fallowfield.
