Lois Wheeler Obituary

Lois Mae Wheeler, 83, of Linesville, formerly of Edinboro, passed away after a period of declining health on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Wesbury Retirement Community.

Born June 19, 1937, in Erie, she was the daughter of Klahr and Marion (Dewey) Young.  She married Sidney S. Wheeler on September 12, 1957.  He preceded her in death on December 2, 2013.

She graduated from Edinboro High School.  Lois worked as a Tavern Manager for many years and enjoyed sharing laughs with the patrons.  She also worked for Visiting Nurses and Edinboro Manor.  In later years, she and her husband, Sidney, owned and operated Wheeler Trucking which allowed them to travel the country together.  She was a member of the Edinboro and later the Linesville United Methodist Churches.

Lois enjoyed much in her life.  She loved camping, fishing and hunting with family.  She enjoyed the fine art of quilting, and had won many awards for her precision work.  Always a crafter, she enjoyed sharing her creations with those she loved.

Survivors include a son, Jeffery Scott Wheeler of Edinboro; a daughter, Susan Beth Wheeler (Leslie Work) of Meadville; four grandchildren, Erin Beth (Joseph) Mendicino, Amber Sue Wheeler, Jeffery Scott Wheeler II and Wesley Davis Wheeler; and five great-grandchildren, Cora, Aaliyah, Ruth, Caitlynn Rose and Luca.  She is also survived by a sister, Rita (Donald) Hayes of Edinboro; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years; a sister, Patricia Alward and brother-in-law, Charles Alward.

No services will be held at this time due to Covid-19 and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
