Julia Slozat Obituary

        Julia L. Slozat, 65, of Jamestown, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her residence, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.   

        Born December 24, 1956 in Meadville, she was the daughter of Don and Marilyn (Lytle) Hyde.  She married James Slozat on September 6, 1975.  He preceded her in death on March 24, 2019.

        Julia was a 1975 graduate of Linesville High School.  She graduated in 1992 from the Crawford County Vo-Tech Licensed Practical Nurse Program.  She retired from Primary Health Clinic in Jamestown. 

        She was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Greenville.  Julia loved baking and cooking.  She enjoyed driving around in her yellow corvette with her dog Thor and going for walks.  She cherished her family and loved being Nana to her granddaughter, Natalie.  Julia loved her dogs, Thor, Mack, Abby and Roman.    

        Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Gealy and her husband, Luke, of Jamestown; a son, Joshua Slozat and his partner, Michelle Einloth, and their daughter, Natalie James, of Charleston, South Carolina; her parents, Don and Marilyn Hyde of Linesville; two sisters, Susan Stewart and her husband, Doug, of Hartstown and Diane Anthony and her partner, Anthony Rose, of Jamestown; a brother, Donald Hyde Jr. and his wife, Billie Jo, of Jamestown; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.  

        She was preceded in death by her husband.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28th  from 4 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

      A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 29th  at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy McClain, of the Harvest Baptist Church in Greenville, officiating. 

      Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery. 

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Baptist Church, 516 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, Pa 16125.
