John Keches

     John Keches, 100, of Meadville, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Wesbury Retirement Community in Meadville. 

     He was born January 18, 1922, in Farrell, the son of John and Mary (Kurtz) Keches.  He married Kathryn Ridley on April 9, 1943; she preceded him in death on February 24, 1995. 

     John was a graduate of Linesville High School.  He served our country in the United States Air Force stationed in England.  He owned and operated Al’s Clothes in Meadville.

     He was of the Methodist faith.  John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Meadville, the Meadville American Legion Post 111 and the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fixing various things. 

     Survivors include a daughter, Ellen (Guy) Hamilton of Conneaut Lake; two brothers, George Keches of Pittsburgh and Harry Keches of Palos Verdes, California; and many nieces and nephews.      

     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Helen Keches; and three brothers, Amil, Michael and Peter Keches.

     Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with full military honors. 

     Burial will be private in Conneautville Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Linesville VFW Post 7842, 6913 Gehrton Road, Linesville, Pa 16424 or the Meadville American Legion Post 111, 17137 Cussewago Road, Meadville, Pa 16335.
