James Davis Obituary

        James Edward Davis, 80, of Conneautville passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at his residence. 

        Born August 22, 1939, in Meadville, he was the son of the late Louis and Esther Hopkins Davis. 

        He attended Guntown School, a one room school, in Conneautville.  He overcame a learning disability and was able to hold a full time job for many years.    

        James served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.  For 25 years, he worked in maintenance at Conneaut Lake Amusement Park.  He also worked for Nicolls Auctioneers and on Earl Nicolls Farm.  When he was younger he worked for Albro Pickleworks in Springboro.

        James had attended Woodstock in 1969.  He enjoyed doing small engine repairs, fishing, cooking, ice fishing and loved country music.  He had a funny personality and a golden heart.  He was of the Christian faith.   

        Survivors include several cousins, and friends, Jim, Steve, Bob, Tex, Bob and Brownie. 

        He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Frank Hopkins, who had raised him. 

        As per his wishes, cremation was chosen and no services will be held.   

        Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville, PA 16424.
