James L. Brooks

       James L. Brooks, 69, of Espyville, Pa passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021, at his place of business in Andover, Ohio.  James was born May 13, 1952 in Meadville, Pa, the son of the Lee and Jeanne (Lowing) Brooks, who preceded him in death. He enlisted and served in the National Guard for six years.

       On October 20, 1971, he married Greta G. Wiley. They owned and operated The Patio Market, Espyville, Pa and The Roadside Produce Stand in Andover, Ohio. He also worked many years in the trucking industry.

       He is survived by his wife, Greta; his sons, Michael Brooks of Jefferson, Ohio and Steven Brooks (Tammy) of Cochranton, Pa; grandchildren, Jered, Colton, Lauren, and Dustin; his sister, Nancy Carkhuff (Mike); and many nieces and nephews along with special family member, Verna Yoder.

       He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerry, in 1997.

       In respect of his wishes, no calling hours will be held.  Interment will be private at Espyville Cemetery.

       A celebration of his life will be held by the family at a later date.

       In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Espyville Cemetery Association, 1764 Chapel Rd., Espyville, Pa 16424.
