Ivan L. Horner Jr., 87, of Linesville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at his residence.
Born September 20, 1933, in Ravenna, Ohio, he was the son of Ivan L. Horner Sr. and Mary (Nedelka) Horner. He married Judy Boyd on April 6, 1968.
He served our country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 as a Motorpool Staff Sergeant and was stationed in Germany.
Ivan worked as an Iron Worker for over thirty five years. He retired from the Local 348 in Erie.
He was a member of the United Church of Beaver Center in Springboro.
Ivan loved his family as much as they loved him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to church, farming and sawing lumber on his sawmill.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Horner; two sons, Greg Horner (Cheri) of Noxon, Montana and Ivan Horner of Pierpont, Ohio; three daughters, Jennifer Brown (David) of Erie, Allison Drusbasky (Paul) of Hampstead, North Carolina and Bonnie Hutton (Mike) of Wilmington, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Laura.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gerald Devine of the United Church of Beaver Center officiating.
