Gretchen Aileen (Kinzelman) Woods

     Gretchen Aileen Woods, 97, formerly of Linesville, passed away of natural causes on December 9, 2020, at Juniper Village in Meadville. 

     Born October 25, 1923, in Oil City, she was the daughter of George and Bertha (Flinchbaugh) Kinzelman.  She married Bernard V. Woods on January 31, 1948 at St. Peters Church in Conneautville; he preceded her in death on January 22, 1997. 

     Gretchen was a 1941 graduate of Meadville High School.  She retired as a legal secretary for Judge Robert Walker at the Meadville Courthouse.

     She enjoyed golfing in the Hailwood Golf League, bowling in different leagues, and playing in ladies card clubs for many years.  Gretchen also loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing the organ.     

     Survivors include a son, Thomas G. Woods and his wife, Anita, of Linesville; a daughter, Susan Miller and her husband, Thomas, of Meadville; six grandchildren, Kate Hans and her husband, John, Angela Anderson, Steven Eakin and his wife, Kaylin, Kristen Kassep and her husband, Michael, Emily Woods and Evan Woods; six great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Joan (Bunny) Maffey; and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Woods.   

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Janice Bourbeau, and an infant brother, Kenneth.

     Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

     Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery in Linesville.

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.
