Obituary

     Evelyn (Babe) D. Sparber, 88, of Linesville, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at UPMC Hamot in Erie after a brief illness. 

     Born August 26, 1935, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Benjamin Sr. and Florence (Simpkins) Johnston.  She married Henry (Hank) Sparber on November 1, 1955, in Philadelphia.  He preceded her in death on September 1, 2013. 

     Evelyn worked as a press operator at Molded Fiberglass in Linesville for 30 years.  She was a member of the Penn Line Church of Christ in Pierpont, Ohio.

     She was involved with the Fire Police for the Linesville Volunteer Fire Department and had volunteered with her husband for many community events in Crawford and Ashtabula counties.  Evelyn cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

     Survivors include two daughters, Rachelle Vega and her husband, Eric, and Lois Lynn Sparber; a son, Henry L. Sparber Jr. and his girlfriend, Elaine; four grandchildren, James Lytle and his wife, Stephany, Kevin Lytle and his girlfriend, Carrie, Ashley Sparber and her fiancé, Sam; and Shawna Burwell; seven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kayden, Walter, Gabby, Emily, Leo and Alana; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Florence and Dorothy, and a brother, Benjamin.         

     Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

     A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Welker of the Penn Line Church of Christ officiating.  Additional calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. before the funeral.   

     Burial will be in Penn Line Cemetery, Conneaut Township. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Linesville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 55, Linesville, Pa 16424.
