Darlene J. Hamilton, 66, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her residence.
Born February 14, 1955 in Meadville, she was the daughter of Melvin and Ruth (Hollabaugh) Garwood. She married Craig Hamilton on June 14, 1980.
Darlene was a 1973 graduate of Linesville High School. She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Penn State University. She worked as a registered nurse for the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Darlene was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Transfer. She loved gardening and had earned her master’s gardeners degree from Penn State. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. The most important thing in her life was her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Craig Hamilton; two daughters, Tonya Aultz and her husband, Matthew, of Meadville and Amber Hamilton of Meadville; two granddaughters, Alexandria Marie Aultz and Adeline Grace Aultz; a brother, Donald Garwood and his husband, Mark Dunn, of Hemet, California; two sisters, Elaine Peters and her husband, Randall, of Cambridge Springs and Diane Curry and her husband, Scott, of Linesville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Ava Marie Aultz; a brother, David Garwood; and a nephew, Jacob Peters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Solomon officiating. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
