Daniel Melvin Overmoyer, 81, of Peoria, Arizona, formerly of Linesville, went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2022 in Peoria.
Born April 3, 1941 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Earl and Audrey (Farley) Overmoyer. He married Marilyn Cahall on June 18, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio.
Dan was a graduate of Williamsfield High School in 1959. He then graduated from Ohio State University in 1963 with a degree in Dairy Technology and a specialty in Agriculture.
Dan was a county vocational teacher for 30 years teaching in Jefferson, Ohio and then for the Pymatuning Valley School. He lived on a farm in Linesville, PA, where his passion for agriculture continued.
He was a member of the United Church of Springboro and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Linesville.
Dan had previously traveled to Florida for the winter months. He enjoyed square dancing and was involved in a bell choir group in Phoenix.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy Overmoyer (Rosi) of Franklin, Wisconsin, David Overmoyer (Gorica) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brian Overmoyer (Jennifer) of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Andrea, Adriana, Philip, Matthew, Lucas, and James; three siblings, Robert Overmoyer (Carrie) of Milton, West Virginia, James Overmoyer (Joyce) of Galion, Ohio and Abbie Jean Nauman (Ron) of Ashland, Kentucky; a step-sister, Debbie Vosburg (Mark) of Ashtabula, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; mother, Audrey; father, Earl and his wife, Arline; and a step-brother, David Jordan.
Calling hours will be Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Kevin Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in Williamsfield Center Cemetery in Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the United Church of Springboro, 117 S. Main St., Springboro, Pa 16435.
