Carol Anne (Minor) Janke

     Carol Anne Janke (Minor), 85, of Espyville, passed away May 2, 2021 at St. Paul’s Nursing Home in Greenville, Pa.  She resided there after a stroke in 2012.  She was born April 7, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan to Harold and Esther Minor.  Her parents moved to Cleveland when she was a young child. She graduated Class of 1954 from Cleveland Heights High School.  She married John Janke October 20, 1956, in Cleveland.     

     Carol worked many years with Sears at the Credit Central as a collections agent, and retired in 2002 and joined John in their vacation home in Pennsylvania.  She was a member of North Shenango Presbyterian Church in Espyville.  Carol enjoyed traveling with John to many destinations, including Alaska, Canada and the Grand Canyon.

     Her family enjoyed her love of baking by eating the fruits of her labor, such as banana bread and rhubarb pie!

     She was a DIE HARD Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan, and attended many games with her dad growing up. 

     Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John Janke, son, William Janke (Diane) of Garner, North Carolina and daughter, Linda Miller (Brad) of Land O’Lakes, Florida; along with grandchildren, Becky, Katie, Billy, Amber and Keith; and six great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Minor.

     Carol was a two-time cancer survivor; in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, Pa 16335.

     Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville, Pa.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Julia Fraser and Pastor Greg Vanderveen co-officiating.      

     Burial will be in Espyville Cemetery.
