Betty Ruth Spearly, 97, of Linesville, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Rolling Fields Eldercare in Conneautville.
Born November 14, 1922, in Shermansville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ada (Rick) Lindsey. She married Joseph F. Spearly on October 31, 1942; he preceded her in death on February 14, 1989.
She was a graduate of Springboro High School in 1940. Betty was a loving and devoted homemaker. For ten years, she had also worked at Molded Fiber Glass in Linesville.
Betty was a lifetime member of the Linesville United Methodist Church and had served as superintendent of Sunday school. For several years, she was a Cub Scout den leader in Linesville. She liked collecting angels. Betty was called the “Mayor or Caregiver” at Palfund in Linesville.
Survivors include her son, David Spearly and his wife, Carol, of Williamsport; a daughter, Mary (Cookie) Fuller of Linesville; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Fernsler and her husband, Tom, and Susan Wilhelm and her husband, Dean; seven great-grandchildren, Cassandra See, Zachary See, Kitari See, Stephanie Fernsler, Rachel Saxton, Novella Wilhelm and Deana Wilhelm; two great-great-grandchildren, Jazymme and Adrian; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Melissa See; seven brothers, Faye, Lawrence, Raymond, Don, Jim, Guy and Jack and five sisters, Sadie, Josephine, Marian, Arlene and Virginia.
A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
