Annabelle (Mariacher) Shearer

     Annabelle Shearer, 93, of Hartstown, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Marquette Hospice House in Meadville.  She was born in Pardoe, Mercer County, PA September 8, 1929, to the late Leland Leo and Etta Maude Foust Mariacher.  She married Thomas Arthur Shearer Sept 26, 1953, who preceded her in death July 11, 2014.

     She graduated from Conneaut Lake High School in 1947.  She was formerly employed by White’s Store in Shermansville and later worked for American Viscose.  She was a member of Fallowfield United Methodist Church almost 70 years, and a member of the Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge.

     She enjoyed traveling with family to the Holy Land, Europe (especially Austria, the land of her ancestors), England, Ireland, and Hawaii. Annabelle’s legacy is marked by service, caring for others and consistently extending mercy.  She was active in her community, partnered with her husband in business, was devoted to prayer, listening, and sending uplifting cards to others.  Her children cherished her keen interest in their work and activities as she celebrated every milestone and grieved every disappointment with them.

     She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Walters (husband Lawrence – deceased 2013) of Dallas, TX, Karen Ellison (husband Arthur) of Knoxville, TN, and son, Dale (wife Linda) of Hartstown, PA.  She has 4 grandchildren, Matthew Walters, Rebekah, Sarah, and Amanda Shearer; and 3 step-grandchildren, Catherine, Michael, and Chad (wife Erin) Ellison and 3 great grandchildren Calli, Colette & Emmett; and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Donald LeRoy Mariacher and Kenneth Mac Mariacher.

     The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10 from 4-7 p.m. at the Fallowfield United Methodist Church, 3993 Leach Road, Atlantic. 

     A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11 at the church with Rev. Les Hutchins officiating.  Additional calling will be on Saturday before funeral from 10-11 a.m. at the church. 

     Burial will be in McMichael Cemetery in East Fallowfield Township.   

     Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
