William John Young

William John Young, 70, of Espyville, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at his residence.

Born June 21, 1944, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy Smith Young.

He was a graduate of West Mifflin North High School.

William proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1964 until he was honorably discharged in 1968.  He served with the Vietnam Security Police, 632 nd SPS.  He was a dog handler in Vietnam for his dog Rocky.

For many years, he did catering for different airlines at Los Angeles International Airport.  He then worked for at a prison running the kitchen in Northern California.  William moved to Espyville in 2004, and worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant before retiring.

He enjoyed shopping and loved eating out at restaurants with his family.

Survivors include a nephew, Aaron Young and his wife, Janet, of West Mifflin; a niece, Lori Young of Espyville; a great-nephew, Vincent Krivacek-Young of Espyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles J. Young.

As per his request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to a humane society of your choice.
