Virginia Lee (Jones) Headley, a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, devoted daughter, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2025, at 6:30 PM, at the age of 71. Born on August 28, 1954, Ginny spent her life devoted to her faith, her family, and her community.
Throughout her courageous journey with cancer, Ginny and her family held tightly to the scripture, “Be still and know that I am God.” These words became a source of peace, comfort, and strength, carrying her through the hardest moments and surrounding her loved ones with reassurance and hope.
Rooted in her deep relationship with Jesus Christ, Ginny’s compassion, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone blessed to know her. Ginny embraced every role in her life wholeheartedly. As a mother, she was truly exceptional, ensuring every event was attended, every birthday was celebrated, every home-cooked meal was made with love, and every moment with her children and grandchildren was cherished. She was the kind of mom and the best Gigi who showed up for everything. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, proudly cheering from the sidelines of their sporting events, celebrating every milestone, and filling their lives with encouragement and joy.
Losing both of her siblings and her father, Ginny cared for her mom with unwavering dedication, tenderness, responsibility, and a depth of love that defined who she was. Their bond was precious, and Ginny’s care brought comfort, stability, and joy to her mother in the years they shared together.
Her love for others extended far beyond her home. As a youth group leader at the Baptist Church in Linesville, PA, Ginny poured her heart into guiding young people. She led with enthusiasm, warmth, and genuine care, creating a place where teens felt safe, valued, and inspired in their faith. Her passion for youth ministry made an impact that will be remembered for generations.
Throughout her life, Ginny embraced new challenges with courage and optimism. She worked as an office manager at a dentist office and served as a Weight Watchers group leader, inspiring others with her dedication to health and wellness. With tremendous bravery and determination, Ginny eventually stepped away from her role as a dental office manager, learned everything she needed to know, and opened her own business, Ginny’s Bulk Food & Deli store, a beloved fixture in the community that reflected her hard work, resourcefulness, and heart for serving others.
Her adventurous spirit shone brightly, she was an avid golfer (taking great joy in beating her husband, Dave, in their last round together), a camper, and a hiker. She even completed the running leg of a team triathlon, a challenge she embraced with her signature courage and enthusiasm. One of her favorite memories from her teenage years was making the newspaper after roller skating all the way from Linesville to Meadville with her best friends.
Ginny also loved quiet, simple joys, working on puzzles, getting lost in a good book, going to lunch with her friends, relaxing on the beach with her family, and feeling the sand beneath her toes. Her compassionate heart extended, even leading her to have her beloved dog, Shaggy, certified as a therapy dog so they could bring comfort to others.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dave; her mother, Shirley Jones; her son, Beau; her daughter, Cassie; her son-in-law, Jarrad Pencek; and her treasured grandchildren, Jovi, Makenna, and Cruz. She is also survived by many brother-in-law's, sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were touched by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.
While she will be deeply missed on earth, Ginny is now reunited in Heaven with her beautiful sister, Sandra, who passed away in her youth; her brother, Rich, who preceded her many years ago; and her father, Richard, whom she lost three years prior. The joy of that reunion brings comfort to those who love her.
A woman of faith, compassion, and adventure, Ginny’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is now at peace with her Savior, her light, her laughter, and her love remain a guiding presence to those she leaves behind.
