Ronald Frank Uzarski, 66, of Linesville, passed away, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Meadville Medical Center after a four year courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born February 27, 1948, in Meadville, he was the son of Frank and Frances Balint Uzarski.  He married Elke Hubschmann on October 1, 1971 in Germany.

He was a Linesville High School graduate in 1966.  Ron then served our country in the United States Air Force from 1968 until he was honorable discharged in 1975.  In 1978 he joined the Air Force Reserves and served for ten years.

Ron worked as a purchasing and manufacturing manager for many years.  He was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.  Ron was past commander of the Linesville American Legion Post 462 and was also on the board of trustees for the Crawford County American Legion.  He was a member of the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842 and the Pymatuning Sportsmen’s Club.

In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, and being outdoors hunting.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Elke Uzarski; four children, Michael Ronald Uzarski of Linesville, Nicole Michele Mattocks and her husband, Doug, of Linesville, Wayne Jeffrey Uzarski of Canonsburg and Jennifer Jean Uzarski of North Clarendon, Vermont; four grandchildren, Aubree Frances Uzarski, Megan Brook Mattocks, Alex Michael Mattocks and Ben Raymond Mattocks; nine brothers and sisters, Colleen M. Owen of Linesville, Eileen M. Petruso of Meadville, Marleen Sue Sikora and her husband, Bruce, of Pulaski, Kenneth Uzarski and his wife, Darlene, of Linesville, Timothy G. Uzarski and his wife, Jennifer, of Linesville, Michael Fred Uzarski and his wife, Jackie, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Daniel S. Uzarski of Saegertown, Gary J. G. Uzarski and his wife, Joanne, of Greenville, and Randy F. Uzarski and his wife, Melissa of Conneautville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Sandy Petruso.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey J. Lucas as celebrant.

Burial with full military honors provided by the Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in Penn Line Cemetery.
