Ralph E. Spring, 91, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, August 09, 2012, at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born June 17, 1921 in Atlantic, he was the son of Ernest and Helen Patterson Spring. He married Zona C. Snodgrass on July 26, 1941 in Jamestown.
He was a graduate of Jamestown Hl +h School, Ralph served our country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marines during World War II from 1944 until 1946 and was an aerial photographer.
He worked for Mulvey Advertising in Greenville and the Tribune Publishing Company in Meadville for 24 years and retired in 1979,
Ralph was a member of the St. Marks United Church of Christ in Meadville. He was a life member of the Oil Creek Beagle Club, a member of the Elks Lodge #219 in Meadville and a member of the Graphic Communications Worker's Union. He was past president of the Meadville Sportsman Council, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 in Meadville and also was a life member of the Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society in Saegertown.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skydiving and racing homing pigeons.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Zona C. Spring; two sons, Paul W. Spring of Meadville and C: Spring and his wife, Susan, of Rumney, New Hampshire; a daughter, Cheryl Albaugh and her husband, Wi
of Meadville; five grandchildren, Bradley Spring and his wife, Kelley, Amanda Jordan and her husband, Cotey, Adam Albaugh and his wife, Yvette, Adrian Albaugh and Paul S, Spring; two great-grandchildren, Austin Spring and Ali Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Thelma Dewey and Doris Starry.
A celebration of Ralph's life will be held 2 p.m. Monday at St. Marks United Church of Christ, 6650 Franklin Pike, Cochranton with the Rev. Russell Hines officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Kiser Hill Cemetery in Meadville.
