Mark E, Sickles, 52, of Conneaut Lake, passed away, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsbusgh after a brave four year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome/AML Leukemia. Born September 27, 1959 in Meadville, he was the son of Raymond and Vera Jones Sickles. Mark married Danielle Camp and they had been together for 28 years He was a graduate of Linesville High School in 1978. He worked for the PA Fish and Boat Commission as a fish culturist at the Linesville Fish Hatchery for 26 years before retiring. During his years at the Hatchery he coordinated the yearly open hou: He taught many children and teachers at the hatchery and produced many instructional and teaching videos. He loved his job and took great pride in the work he did there. He served as a steward for his local union. Mack received his captain’s license and was also a boating instructor. He taught at the French Creek Outdoor Learning Center. He was also a Keystone Aquatic Resource Education Instructor. Mark was a guest speaker at many functions, schools, and rotary clubs. For many years, he coached gisls softball teams in Harmonsbusg. Mark enjoyed being on the chain gang for Linesville football for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his childhood friends, especially Jerry Hood who has been by his side thru the good times and the bad times. He was an avid Pittsbuegh Steelers fan. Most of all Mack cherished the time he spent with his family especially his grandson Caiden. Survivors include his loving wife, Danielle Sickles; a daughter, Suni Loucks and her husband, Kevin, of Conneaut Lake; a grandson, Caiden Loucks; two sisters, Nancy Hamilton and her husband, Ned, of Conneaut Lake and Lori Shorts and her husband, Ed, of Conneaut Lake; two brothers, Richard Sickles and his wife, Judy, of Linesville and Robert Sickles and his wife, Gaynel, of Conneaut Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Sickles and a sister, Linda Robel. As per his wishes cremation was chosen. ‘The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway 6, Linesville. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made at any PNC Bank, please reference The Mark Sickles Benefit Fund.
