Margaret Edna (Lowing) Kohler of Linesville, a resident of Rolling Fields since July 2012, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013. She was born to Isabelle (Bailey) and Frederick Lowing in Linesville on August 14, 1926.
A 1945 graduate of North Shenango High School. She married John Henry Kohler, Jr. of Jamestown on March 26, 1949.
Margie was an avid gardener who annually spent March through November maintaining her huge tiered flower gardens on South Townline Road that people traveled near and far to see. She also enjoyed collecting knickknacks and a wide variety of yard ornaments.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Jean Brooks-Bodisch; and three brothers, Malchom, Luther, and Alvin Lowing.
She is survived by one son, Terry J. Kohler and his wife, Shirley, of Linesville; two grandsons, Terry J. Kohler, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Hartstown; Rick L. Kohler and his wife, Sommer, of Linesville; six great-grandchildren; John Andrew, Elise Marie, Kevin Anthony, Devyn Rose, Jaclyn Elizabeth & Alex Michael Kohler; a sister-in-law; Iris Spencer of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Rolling Fields’ Cherry Street staff for the excellent care and daily encouragement given to Margaret.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Ken Saul, Associate Pastor of First Church of God in Greenville, officiating.
Burial will be private at the Conneaut Center Cemetery, Linesville.
