Margaret Brenwald Buttice Kiggins

Margaret peacefully passed away in her home, on Wednesday, June 19, at 95 years of age.

Maggie was born on February 4, 1929 to Mary Dupal Lucas and Andrew Lucas.

She was a graduate of North Shenango High School and Edinboro State College.  She majored in Elementary Education, and was a member of the Women’s Field Hockey team.

Maggie taught for 38 years in Pennsylvania and Ohio, finishing her career teaching kindergarten at Pymatuning Valley in Andover, Oh.

She was a member of the North Shenango Presbyterian Church.  Maggie enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.

She married Joseph Bruno Buttice in 1964.  He preceded her in death in 1986.  She later married Asa Kiggins in 1991.  He preceded her in death in 2007.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; a brother, John Lucas; a sister, Marian Zaebst; a son, Joseph John Buttice, and his wife, Patty; and her son in law, Mark G. Hanna.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Lucas of Mt. Holly, North Carolina; and two sisters, Bernardine Miltner of Conneaut, Ohio; and Helen Wentink of Columbia, South Carolina.

Surviving children are Regina Brenwald Hanna, Ronald James Brenwald, Donald Brenwald and his wife, Pam; Dianna Brenwald Catalano and her husband, Robert; Mary Jo Buttice Maxwell and her husband, Robert and Salvatore Buttice; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the North Shenango Presbyterian Church, in care of Robert Vickery, 10377 Church Rd, Espyville, PA 16424, or to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, Pa 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, Linesville.
