Lyle D. Hathaway, 56, of Linesville, passed away, Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville
Born June 27, 1954 in Meadville, he was the son of Earle David and Bonita Thayer Hathaway. He was member of the Linesville First Baptist Church.
Lyle was a 1973 graduate of Linesville High School. He then earned an electrical degree from Crawford County Area Vocational Technical School.
In 2004, he retired from the assembly department at Channellock in Meadville after 30 years.
He was a former member of the Linesville, Albion, and Lake City Volunteer Fire Departments. Lyle loved helping people out with various odd jobs. He enjoyed eating out at restaurants in Linesville especially the Driftwood Restaurant.
Survivors include three sons, Benjamin Jon Hathaway of Pennsylvania, Crystal Sue Hathaway of Meadville and Emily Jean Hathaway of Erie; a grandson, Isaac Michael Hathaway; two sisters, Vera Shepard of Meadville and Rena Penfield and her husband, Dan, of Linesville; a uncle, Calvin Thayer and his wife, Mildred, of Linesville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, Harold and James Hathaway and a half-sister, Evelyn Hathaway Reed.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway 6, Linesville.
‘The funeral service will be 11 a.m, Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Rev. Marshall Lillie, chaplain of the Hospice of Crawford County, officiating, Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
