Leslie Giles Corey

January 11, 1954 — September 24, 2025

Linesville

Leslie Giles Corey, 71, of Linesville, died Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born the middle child of five on January 11, 1954, he was the son of James R. Corey and Sara Giles Corey, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Cheryl L. Reynolds February 2, 1974; she survives.

Despite announcing that he was quitting school after one really bad day of 2nd grade, he graduated from Linesville Senior High School in 1973. He and his wife helped to plan their 50th class reunion which they attended together 2 years ago.

Much of his career was spent installing gas pipelines for Utility Construction of Linesville where he started as a laborer and worked his way up to crew supervisor then spread boss. Later he was elected as a Conneaut Township Supervisor where he used his heavy equipment skills to help maintain the roads and serve his community. He retired from Beaver Township as a laborer in 2021. Some of his closest friendships were with guys he worked with.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards and fixing stuff. He really enjoyed the times he could do these activities with his children and grandchildren. Les had a quick wit and humor that endeared him to many. He expressed that his proudest achievement in life was his two kids.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Cheryl L. Corey, he is survived by one daughter, Nikki (Corey) Davis of Glen Burnie, MD, and one son, Justin James Corey and his wife, Shannon, of Saegertown; and four grandchildren. He leaves behind 2 brothers with whom time and distance didn’t affect their bond: Larry Corey and his wife, Karen, of Linesville and Lonnie Corey and his wife, Patty, of Zanesville, OH. He also leaves behind 2 sisters: Darlene McCall of Conneautville and Melanie Jackson Mullen and her husband, Brian, of Linesville and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Pymatuning Sportsmen's Club, 3642 W. Erie St. Ext., Linesville from 1-3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd, Meadville, PA 16335 or to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St, Meadville, PA 16635.
