Laura Jane Goldsmith - July 2, 1929 ~ March 22, 2012
Laura Jane Goldsmith, 82, of Linesville, passed away, Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Cambridge Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born July 2, 1929 in Corry, she was the daughter of Clydé and Mae Ashusst Jones. She married Wilbur L. (Goldy) Goldsmith on june 21, 1947; he preceded her in death on October 4, 2006. She had attended Meadville High School. Laura was a loving and devoted homemaker and was retired after having various jobs throughout her life.
She was a member of the Linesville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golfing, baking pies, and knitting beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Laura was such a people person and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Goldsmith and his wife, Theresa, of Cambridge Springs, Gerald Goldsmith of McKean, Pa; a daughter Lori Putman and her husband, Mark, of Atlantic; grandchildren Jamie Goldsmith of Ashtabula, Carrie Mordy of Greenville, Aimee Carner and her husband, Norman, of Conneaut Lake, Matt Putman of Adantic, Amanda Goldsmith of Pittsburgh, Molly Goldsmith of McKean, Tom Goldsmith of Santa Barbara, California, Jenny Goldsmith of Lake Tahoe, California , Aaron and Michaela Dodds both of Cambridge Springs, and Jennifer Putman of Meadville, Jessica Putman of Altus, Oklahoma and John Putman of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchilden, Rasheem Morgan, Amaya Morgan, Riley Wooldridge, and Evan and Logan Carner; sisters, Shisley Davis of Linesville and Peg Fry and her husband, Paul, of Conneaut Lake; brothers, Dick Jones and his wife, Shieley, of Linesville and Jack Jones of Saegertown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Thomas E. Goldsmith, a great-grandson, Jackson A. Williams, two daughter-in-laws, Sandea Goldsmith and Linda Goldsmith, and eight siblings.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway 6, Linesville. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with son-in-law, Mark Putman, conducting the service. Busial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
