June A. Merry, 85, of Linesville, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Orville and Zella Paris Robinson.  She married James R. Merry on February 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2001.

Mrs. Merry and her late husband purchased the Western Auto Store in Linesville in 1955 and owned and operated the business for 43 years.   In 1980, her husband was elected to the House of Representatives and alongside her husband, she dedicated her time to helping local communities and their constituents until his retirement in 1996.  Many people still remember their traditional Thanksgiving brunch, prepared for 30 to 50 close friends.

June was a Past Matron of Eastern Star Diamond Chapter # 120 and former Deputy Grand Matron of Eastern Star of the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania.  June was a 50 year member of the Linesville Grange #694 and a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church.  Of her various hobbies, she spent many years researching her ancestry.  This research allowed her to become a member of the Mayflower Society, the John Howland Society, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She loved to play golf, entertain family and friends and was known for her musical talents, which included her love for the organ and piano.

June is survived by twin daughters, Jan Cico and her husband, James, of Williamsfield, Ohio and Jill Smith and her husband, Fred, of Linesville; one son, Jon Merry of Linesville; three grandchildren, Julie Clements of Meadville, Stephan Cico and his wife, Heidi, of Sharpsville, and Scott Cico and his wife, Hope, of Rosamond, California; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Robinson and his wife, Norma, of Littleton, Colorado.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, William Robinson.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home follow the calling on Sunday at 5 p.m. with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton, of the Linesville United Methodist Church, officiating.  An Eastern Star service will be held prior to the funeral service at 4:45 p.m.

Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
