June A. Deitz, 87, of Linesville, after a period of failing health, passed away at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community on Friday, July 19, 2019.
June was born on June 4, 1932, in Pittsburgh, to Edwin S. Myers and Catherine Mattory Myers. At the age of seven, her family moved to Linesville where she was a lifelong resident. She was married Robert E. Deitz until he passed away on July 19, 2011.
She was a 1950 graduate of Linesville High School. June worked as a secretary at Rockwell International in Ashtabula, Ohio, retiring when the plant closed. June was a member of St. Philip Church, a member of the Board of the Linesville Community Public Library, serving as the treasurer for several years, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her siblings, Arlene Santner of Conneaut Lake, Alma Warren of Linesville and Curt Myers of Conneaut, Ohio.; a niece, Jessica Myers- Murphy and her husband, Pat, and daughter, Chloe, of New Mexico; a nephew, Will Myers of North Carolina; Robert’s son, Russ and his wife, Kim, and their family of Ohio; a brother-in-law, John Deitz and his wife, Zan, of South Carolina; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful to Steven, Janet and Mark Welsh for all their acts of kindness for June; a special thank you goes to June’s caregivers at Rolling Fields.
As per June’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Private interment will be in St. Philip Cemetery, Linesville.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
