John H. Farley, 81, of Linesville, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at his residence.
Born December 18, 1933, in Homestead, he was the son of Hubert and Cora Davidson Farley. He married Bonita M. Hovis on August 23, 1956.
He had attended Linesville High School. He retired from Channellock in Meadville.
John enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed selling sweet corn and produce from his family farm stand and especially liked talking with those who stopped.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bonita M. Farley; four children, Carol Browning and her husband, Raymond, of Linesville, Michael Farley and his wife, Debra, of Linesville, Sandy Wilson and her husband, Chris, of Linesville, and Kathy Wetherell and her husband, Russ, of Conneautville; eight grandchildren, Jason, Jon, Colt, Sara, Bill, Leeann, Jenna and Doug; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Beach of Alabama and Judy Dougherty and her husband, Paul, of Texas; two brothers, Jerry Farley of Linesville and Raymond Farley and his wife, Evelyn, of Linesville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
The funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan D. Wagner of the Calvary Baptist Church in Conneautville, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Linesville Ambulance and Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 55, Linesville, Pa 16424.
