Janet Lee Armstrong, 91, passed away on October 8, 2026. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a cherished member of her family and community.
On June 4, 1955, Janet married Ellis (Bill) William Armstrong in Northeast Pennsylvania. Together, they shared a life built on love, commitment, and family. Janet was a devoted wife to Bill until his passing, and together they built a family legacy that will continue through the generations.
Janet was the loving mother of five children: Jon and his wife, Julia; Ricky and his wife, Fran; her beloved son Randy, who passed away at an early age; Ort and his wife, Susan; and her daughter, Connie Jo Bonner, who passed away just one week before her mother. Connie is survived by her husband, Leo Bonner.
Janet was blessed with seven grandchildren: Anthony, Randy, Erin, Morgan, Julius, Katherine, and her beloved grandson Orton Chad, son of Ort and Susan, who preceded her in death.
Janet was the oldest of seven children and helped raise each and every one of her six younger siblings: Hester John, Carl Edgar, Helen Margaret (Peggy), Francis Eugene, Gloria Ruth, and Patty Ann. Her care and devotion to her brothers and sisters reflected the love and sense of responsibility that remained a defining part of her life. Having outlived all six of her siblings, Janet was the last surviving member of her generation.
Throughout her working life, Janet worked as a tax collector, serving her community through her career. She was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church.
A longtime resident of Linesville, Pennsylvania, Janet devoted her life to her family, her community, and the people she loved. Her devotion to Bill, her children, and the generations that followed was a lasting part of who she was.
Janet’s life leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and devotion. Though she has now passed, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all those who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Calling hours will be held at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Route 6, Linesville, PA, on October 18, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 5 p.m.
