Helen A. Lamont, 94, of Harmonsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Meadville Medical Center from a short illness.
She was born April 13, 1925, in Meadville, to Ila and Ralph Sutliff. She was the oldest of eight children. She married Floyd W. Lamont September 9, 1943. He preceded her in death in 2002.
When her kids were older she worked at Conneaut Lake Park in the summers and at Isaly’s in Conneaut Lake in the winters for about six years. She retired from Carlisles Department Store as the manager of the shoe department. She loved working in her flower gardens and rock gardens and was a great crafter. She also loved to write and wrote over 100 poems. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Helen are her two children, William E. Lamont of Harmonsburg and her daughter, Barbara D. Dudenhoeffer (Gary) of Meadville; three grandchildren, Rob Clements (Robyn) of Texas, Joale Jaquith (Troy) of Union City and Trisha Field of Meadville; six great-grandchildren, Allyson and Austin Jaquith, Zach and Bradyn Field, and Elijah and Kiera Clements; two sisters, Ruth Luke of Conneautville and Pearl Olinger of Florida; two brothers, Art and Fred Peck of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Faith Watson of Linesville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, sister, Thelma, brothers, Gene and Jim and several nephews.
There will be no calling hours per her request.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville, PA 16424.
