Glenn M. Shellito Sr., 98, of Linesville passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born January 4, 1915 in Linesville, he was the son of Charles and Eleanor Mae Murray Shellito. He married Louise Braswell on March 10, 1936; she preceded him in death on October 22, 2007.
He was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church. Glenn graduated high school in Longwood, Florida.
Most of his life, he worked as bricklayer and had helped build many buildings in the area. For several years starting in 1947, he was co-owner of the supermarket in Linesville called the Automarket.
Glenn was a member of the bricklayers union local #87 in Meadville. He enjoyed fishing and playing the violin. He had played the violin in the Philharmonic Orchestra in Orlando, Florida.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Shellito Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Linesville, Charles Shellito and his wife, Joan, of Brunswick, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Mark Shellito of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Julie Parsons and her husband, Dennis, of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Kelli Leech and her husband, Charles, of Conneaut Lake, Michael Shellito and his wife Evelyne of Burlington, Vermont, Shawn Shellito and his wife, Rebecca, of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, Wendy Krembs and her husband, Jesse, of Burlington, Vermont, and Kerry Shellito and his wife, Jennifer, of Ruskin, Florida; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Private calling hours will be held. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28 at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville with the Reverend Dennis Lawton of the Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
