Freda Louise Rhodes

Freda Louise Rhodes, 93, of Harmonsburg, passed away, Monday, September 17, 2012, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, where she had resided for the last 7 years.
Born December 20, 1918 in Kennerdale, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest of four children to David and Margaret O’Brien Feltenberger.
She went to school in Coal City for the first couple of years and then the family moved to West ee, She continued her education in Emlenton, where she used to ride the train back and forth to school. She worked odd jobs until meeting her future husband, Byron Giles ee whom she married on January 14, 1940; he preceded her in death on October 20, 1972,
she and Byron had their first child, David, in West Monterey on July 3, 1941. They then moved to Conneaut Lake Park area, They had another son, Jon on October 12, 1943. On March 19, 1950 they had their only daughter, Bonnie, During the years Freda lived in Conneaut Lake, she worked at the photo shop at Conneaut Lake Park, The family moved to Linesville in 1957. In the mid 1960's Freda went to work at Molded Fiber Glass in Linesville, where she was a press operator for over 13 years. She continued to work until her retirement in 1981.
Freda married James Rhodes on March 20, 1976. She and Jim lived in Harmonsburg and were very active in the local Summit Township Fire Department, helping run Bingo and the ey Freda was also instrumental in the Harmonsburg Women's Club and the Harmonsburg Ladies Club. Jim passed away on February 22, 1991. Freda continued to live in Harmonsburg and be active in all her social circles until an illness forced her to relocate to Rolling Fields on January 17, 2005.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and playing cards. She also loved to go to bingo. She truly cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son Jon Lee Logan and his wife, Rhonda, of HaCmorestre: a daughter, Bonnie Hostetler and her husband, Lee, of Moon Township; a daughter-in-law, Laura Logan of Mundelein, illinois; grandchildren, Mitchell Logan, Patti Delozier and her husband, Ken, Joanne Logan, Jon T. Logan, Sonya Logan, Travis Lo; Jette Cea and his wife, Kristi, Seth Nicotra, Steven Adams and Melinda Adams; step-daughters, Ruth Ann Cooper and her husband, Kenneth, of Harmonsburg and Thelma Stevenson and her husband, James, of Killingworth, Connecticut, Freda now has over 50 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a son, David Giles Logan, two brothers, Richard and Hollis Feltenberger and a sister, Viola Feltenberger.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pn. at Reyal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton of the Harmonsburg and Linesville United Methodist Churches officiating, Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
