Frank S. Valencic Jr.

Frank §. Valencic Jr, 86, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville after a valiant two month battle with cancer.
Born December 11, 1924 in James City, Pa, he was the son of Frank Sr. and Agnes Potocini Valencic. He married Dorothea Ann Szymkowiak on November 20 1945; she survives.
Frank was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover and St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville. He was a graduate of Har-Brack High School in Natrona Heights. He served our country in the Navy during World War IT from 1943 until he was honorable discharged in 1946.
In the 1950’s he owned and operated Frank's Boat Works in Tarentum, where he specialized in custom: plywood boats. He worked as a union carpenter in Brackenridge. Also, he worked at Cabot Chemicals in Ashtabula, Ohio and retired from Rockwell in Ashtabula i198:
Frank was a 60 year member of theAmerican Legion, Post 226 in Brackenridge. He loved working in his yard, especially with his wife in their rose garden. His passion was Muskie fishing and he had handcrafted hundreds of fishing lures.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothea Valencic; five sons, William F. Valencic and his wife, Dian, of Wickenburg, Arizona, A. Thomas Valencic and his wife, Sharon, of Washington, Illinois, R. ‘Timothy Valencic and his wife, Rita, of Linesville, Jaime Valencie and his companion, Dana, of Edinboro, and Robert Valencic and his wife, Kelly, of Erie; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Valencic and his wife, Peggy and Louis Valencic and his wife, Ana, both of Natrona Heights; and
He was preceded in death by his parents. AS per his request, cremation was chosen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funcral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, | inesville.
