Emma Mae West, 83, of Meadville, passed away on Thursday, Apsil 14, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born January 24, 1928, in Meadville, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Ethel Taylor. She married Paul Leonard West on August 29, 1946; he preceded her in death on july 15, 1979.
She was a loving and devoted homemaker. For 18 years, she worked as a caregiver at the Golden Living Center in Cambridge Springs. Emma enjoyed hunting and fishing especially going on trips with her husband to Canada. She enjoyed cooking holiday dinners for her family and loved spending time with
Survivors include two sons, Lenard West and his wife, Connie, of Willcox, Arizona and David West of Conneaut, Ohio; five sisters, Gladys Karns of Cochranton, Edith Cunningham, and her husband, Phil, of Meadville, Norann Malliard of Meadville, Lucille Stevens of Saegertown, Birdie Greathouse and her husband, Bud, of Meadville; a brother, Larry Taylor and his wife Barb, of Somerset; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Norman West, and a brother Willard Taylor. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway 6, Linesville.
‘The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Tubbs of the Linesville and Harmonsburg United Methodist Churches officiating, Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
