Elizabeth M, (Grandma Betty) Anderton, 75, of Linesville, passed away, Friday, February 11, 2011, at hee residence after a brief but courageous battle with cancer Born June 1, 1935 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Frank Joha and Agnes Swanson Powell. She married ‘Thomas E. Anderton Jr. on February 10, 1955; he preceded her in death on February 2, 1996. She was a graduate of Emlenton High School in 1954. Betty was a member of the Red Hats in Jamestown and enjoyed helping with bingo in Harmonsburg, She enjoyed crocheting and sharing the items with those in need. She loved bird watching and enjoyed all wildlife and nature, Betty touched the lives and hearts of all that knew her and she will be greatly mi Survivors include nwo sons, ‘Thomas E. Anderton III and his wife, Janice L., of Meadville and James R. Anderton of Linesville; a daughter, Viola Piatek and her husband, Scott, of Hutto, seven geandchildre Beittany, Courtney, Savannah, and Elijah Anderton of and Sarah and Laura Dart of Cortland, New Alice Shoup; two brothers, Richard and Niles Powell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Powell and an infant brother. husband, a daughter, Cynthia E, (Cindy) Anderton, a brother, John Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway 6, Linesville. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Bryan J. Powell of the Linesville Presbyterian Church officiating, Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery. ‘The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Linesville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 235, Linesville, Pa 16424, the Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St, or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., both of Meadville, Pa 16335.
