E. Merwin Wheeler September 9, 1926 ~ June 16, 2012 E. Merwin (Mert) Wheeler, 85, of Linesville, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at his residence. Born September 9, 1926 in Conneautville, he was the son of Earl and Ethelyn Hague Wheeler. He married Genevieve M, Bollard on March 24, 1951 at their home. He attended Beaver Center Schools and then graduated from Conneaut Valley High School in 1944, He served our country in the Army Air Corps. Mert was a lifelong dairy farmer and along with his wife and four sons operated Wheeler Farms in Conneaut Township, He was a lifelong business entrepreneur, He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Bureau and the American Bison Association. Also, he was a member on the Conneaut School District Board and had served as the president of the board, He enjoyed going to auctions in the area and loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting and school events, Survivors include a his loving wife of 61 years, Genevieve M. Wheeler; four sons, Gary Wheeler and his wife, Marilisa, of Hartstown, Bruce Wheeler and his wife, Mary, Glenn Wheeler and his wife, Julie, and Mark Wheeler all of Linesville; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Borde and her husband, Phil, of Forks, Washington; three brothers, Robert Wheeler of Fort Myers, Florida, Gerald Wheeler of Conneautville and Gayle D, Wheeler and his wife, Cindy, of Fairhope, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter ~in-law, Marianne Wheeler; a great- granddaughter, Myla Elizabeth Shelatz; and a sister, Shirley Chiles. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m, at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesity at the funeral home with Brenda Loucks of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be private in Conneaut Center Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Center Cemetery Association in care of Mary Wheeler, 326 Wallace Ave., Linesville, Pa 16424.
