Dwayne Russell Headley, 85, of Linesville, passed away quietly on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Meadville Medical Center surrounded by his wife of sixty-five years, Maxine and his family.

Born October 17, 1927, in Linesville, he was the son of the late William and Charlotte Thompson Headley.  He married Maxine J. White on January 26, 1948 and they had recently celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.

He was a 1945 graduate of Linesville High School.  Dwayne then served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  For 39 years, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad later the Conrail Railroad in Ashtabula, Ohio and retired in 1989.   He had served as Conneaut Township supervisor for many years.

He was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church.  He was a lifetime member of the Linesville American Legion Post 462.

Dwayne was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.  He enjoyed working in the woods cutting firewood for heating his home, playing cards with his wife and being surrounded by his loving family.  Dwayne was a great fan of the San Diego Padres where his nephew Chase Headley plays.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maxine J. Headley and will be truly missed by his surviving children, Vicki Gillette Berry of Conneaut Lake, Ronald D. Headley and his wife, Jane, of Linesville, James R. Headley of Linesville, Marsha Sowry and her husband, Dick, of Kingsville, Ohio, Dennis Headley and his wife, Mary of Linesville, David Headley and his wife, Ginny, of Mercer, Karen Headley of Linesville, and Bryan Headley and friend Walter Munson of Pittsburgh.

A beloved grandfather that will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Dale Gillette and his wife, Jill, Michael Gillette and his wife, Stacy, Mathew Gillette, Christopher Headley and his fiancé, Lisa Molinaro, Shaun Headley and his wife, Karrie, James Headley and his wife, Desiree, Justin Greco and her husband, Christopher, Tiffany Sowry, Ty Sowry, Stephen Headley and his wife, Courtney, Ross Headley, Beau Headley and his wife, Heather, Cassie Pencek and her husband, Jarrad, Tara Lang and her husband, Adam, and Julie Headley; and 13 soon to be 14 great-grandchildren.   He is also survived by his twin sister, Elaine Sherretts and another sister Susan Shunkwiler both of Linesville; many nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Headley; a son-in-law, Charles Berry; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Headley; three brothers, Wilson, George and Howard Headley; and five sisters, Beryl Kitsa, Beatrice Bollard, Joyce Cotton, Jean Campbell and an infant sister.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville. Additional calling will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton of the Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.  Full military honors will be provided by the Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, prior to the start of the service.

Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
