Dorothy L. Atkin, 91, formerly of Linesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at St. Paul's in Greenville where she had resided for over a year.
Born March 18, 1920, she was the daughter of Frank and Ada Evans Martin. She married Arden James in 1938; he preceded her in death in 1953. She then married Blaine Foust in 1955 and he passed away in 1970. She later married Audley (Plank) Atkin in 1973 and he passed away in 2002.
She was a member of the Linesville First Baptist Church and attended the Comrads Sunday School Class.
Dorothy had worked at Blazon in Jamestown, Talon, and Rusco Industries both in Meadville.
She enjoyed playing bingo and Mahjongg: Dorothy was a great cook and loved cooking for her family. For over 25, years, she enjoyed traveling to Florida in the wintet.
Survivors include a son, Richaed James and his wife, Linda, of Conneaut Lake; three daughters, Nancy DeFlast and her husband, Dale, of Loves Park, Ilinois, Janet Moyer and her husband, Doa, of Whitsett, North Carolina, and Janice Uzarski and her husband, Gerald, of Greenville; two step-daughters, Lillian Lowther and her husband, ‘Albert, of The Woodlands, Texas and Connie Cummings and her companion, James Jaffko, of Meadville; twelve grandchildren, R. Arden James Jr., Joni Davenport, Ronald James, Trudi James, Crystal Lundvall, Wendy Jancek, Jan Tudgin, Kelly Moyer, Geeg Moyer, Brian Uzarski, Douglas Uzarski, and Julie Lutz; five step-geandchildren, Johns Evans, Valerie Nye, Alice Marziale, Janis Phillips, and Jaclyn Rich; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; three brothers, Jim, Walt, and Harry Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; a step-geandson, Craig Cummings; and three brothers, Virgil, Robert, and Howard Martin.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. Additional calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday before the service. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Art Barnes of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be private in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville.
