Donald L. Ray

      Donald L. Ray, born July 21, 1932, of Linesville Pennsylvania, passed away on July 18, 2026. Don was born in Greenville to Max and Sarah (Whiston) Ray.

     Don is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie; his daughter, Michelle Ray Groover; an infant son, Michael; brothers Charles, Paul, Edward, Theodore, and James, and sisters Joan and Louise.

      Don and Rosie, married for 52 years, raised their 5 children with much love and care. He instilled in his children the idea that dedication and hard work are often the key to success.

      He was a great father and taught them by example that being a good person is equally important to being a successful one.

      Don is survived by his children Debra of Meadville, David (Melissa) of Linesville, Christy (Fred) of Apex, North Carolina, and Kathryn of Lakewood, Ohio and a son-in-law Michael Groover of Meadville. Don is also survived by grandchildren Madison (Will), Ethan, Price, Caroline, Zhanna, and great grandson Declan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

      Calling hours will be Sunday, July 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. 

      A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, July 27 at St. Michaels Cemetery Chapel, 85 N. High St., Greenville with Father Chris Hamlett of St. Philip Church officiating.  

     In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in his name to St. Paul's Senior Living in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
