Diane A. Davis, 64, of Meadville, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born December 26, 1960, in Greenville, she was the daughter of William Pilarcik and Charlotte (O’Grodnick) Kimple. Diane was a 1979 graduate of Linesville High School. She worked at her family owned Driftwood Restaurant in Linesville starting at age 14 until its closing. Recently she was employed at Valenza Restaurant in Meadville.
She enjoyed traveling and going to casinos. Diane was a member of Vernon Central in Meadville. She loved gardening, going on walks and getting together with her friends and family.
A lifelong food server, she did not just take orders, she delivered joy. Her passion was not just for the job, but for the people. She had a gift for making strangers feel like old friends, and old friends feel like family. With a quick wit, a warm smile, and a laugh that could fill a room, she turned everyday interactions into small celebrations of life.
She had a heart as open as her arms, especially when it came to animals. Whether furry, feathered, or a little too slobbery, she never passed up a chance to sit, chat (yes, chat), and play. Animals knew what we all did: she was safe, kind, and endlessly loving.
Her hands were rarely still unless they were busy crafting or baking. In these simple, heartfelt acts, she found joy and purpose. Whether she was tying the perfect bow on a gift, baking a batch of cookies, or stitching something by hand, each creation was a quiet offering of love. These were not just hobbies, they were her way of caring for others, of putting beauty and kindness into the world. Every cookie (and finger) frosted; every handmade gift carefully prepared reflected her generous spirit.
The holidays, especially Christmas, brought out something especially radiant in her. Each year, her home was transformed into a winter wonderland, not just with lights and ornaments (though there were plenty), but with warmth, tradition, and a deep sense of joy. She brought that same magic to her workplace and every space she touched, turning the ordinary into something inviting and full of life. Christmas in her home was not just seen, it was felt. The music, the scents, the decorations, every detail reflected her heart: full, open, and devoted to making others feel cherished. Through it all, she gave the greatest gift of all, herself.
And then there was her love for her brothers, a love so strong that it somehow survived decades of well-executed (and not-so-well-executed) pranks. From baby dolls flying down staircases to mysterious mannequin fingers wrapped in foil and hidden in her fridge, she took it all with grace, laughter, and maybe a mild threat or two. No matter what tricks we pulled, she would somehow still love us and even look forward to the next one.
Her ability to forgive, to laugh, to connect deeply, and to find joy in simple moments was her superpower. And though our hearts are heavy, we know she would want us smiling through tears, probably while planning one last prank in her honor.
Survivors include her husband, George Davis, whom she married on September 7, 1990; three brothers, Michael (Lisa) Stachnik of Linesville, Steven (Renee) Pilarcik of Saegertown and Brian (Maria) Pilarcik of Linesville; a sister, Amanda (Chris) Davis of Linesville; two step-children, Jennifer Islas of Cincinnati, Ohio and Michael (Jessica) Davis of Linesville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved pets.
