David L. Hartwick
January 22, 1947 ~ June 25, 2011
David L. Hartwick, 64, of 6537 US Highway 6, Linesville, PA, formerly of Titusville, PA, passed away Satusday morning, June 25, 2011 in Meadville Medical Center. He was born on January 22, 1947 in Titusville to Leslie A. Hartwick and Jeanne M. (Hamilton) Hartwick. He was a 1965 graduate of ‘Titusville High School, and had attended Ohio Tech in Columbus, OH.
David was a twenty year member of the US. Army 24th Infantry Division, and had served during Operation Desert Storm. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for fifteen years as a Correction Officer at S.C.I. Albion, retiring in 2009.
He was of the Protestant faith, and was a Masony belonging to Muenster Lodge #831, Ulm, Germany. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of N.R.A. In addition, he was a true animal lover, and was a Foster for Droopy Dog Basset Hound Rescue in Union City, PA.
David is survived by a daughter, Rachel J. Hartwick of Toronto, Canada, a sister Sharon Ewing and husband Philip of Townville, PA, and a geandson, Warren K. Laughlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Caling hours wil be on Wednesda, June 29, 2011 from2-4pm & 6-Epm at Royhl-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 US. Highway Route 6, Linesville, PA, Additional visitation time will be on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from. 10:30-11:00am in the chapel of Woodland Cemetery, Titusville, PA, where full military honors will be rendered at 11:00am by Bruce Shorts VFW Post #5958.
A Funeral and Committal Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 8:00pm, with Rev. Donald Hess, Interim Pastor of Townville Baptist Church, officiating, Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Titusville, PA.
