Clair R. Kiser ctober 31, 1920 ~April 2, 2012 Clair R. Kiser, 91, of eraponsturg. passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2012, at his daughter's residence in Edinboro. He had lived in Harmonsburg his entire life and for the last several years had spent time equally living with his daughter and his son. Born October 31, 1920 in Meadville, he was the son of Ray and Lillian Wasson Kiser. He married Kathryn J. Greleski ‘on May 25, 1946; she preceded him in death on February 5, 2000. He was a graduate of Meadville High School. Clair served our country in the U.S. Marines during World War II in the South Pacific. For 30 pear he worked as an Ironworker with the Local 07 Ironworkers Union out of Youngstown, Ohio. and retired in 1982. Clair had attended the Venango United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Linesville American Legion Post 462, the Summit Township Volunteer Fire Department in Harmonsburg, and the Edinboro Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 740. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Clair loved and cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Kwiatkowski and her husband, Victor, of Edinboro; a son, Dan L. Kiser and his wife, Naomi, of Harmonsburg; five grandchildren, Michael Kiser, Melissa Hillius, Shannon Gonzales, Laura Waid and Megan Kiser, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Butts of Beach Island, South Carolina; and a brother, Owen Kiser of Meadville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kathryn Kiser, a son, Carl R. Kiser, three brothers, Alfred, Kenneth, and Floyd Kiser and four sisters, Ruth Turner, Mable McGahen, Leda Sutliff, and Gertrude Kindervater. Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. on Thursday with Ed lams of the Venango United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa 16335.
