Cassius Ralph Courtney, 81, of Espyville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loved ones on October 19, 2026.
He was born on October 28, 1944 in Meadville, PA. He resided in a few places over the years, but always found himself back in small town Pennsylvania. He was a proud member of the United States Army, where he honorably served for 3.5 years.

He was a true ray of sunshine, always reminding us “don’t worry, be happy.” His positivity and warmth were contagious, and he had a special way of making everyone around him smile. His caring, bubbly, and welcoming personality will be cherished for years to come.
He is survived by his daughter, Natalie York and son in law, Pj. His son, Cassius “Curtis” Courtney and daughter in law, Vicki. His grandchildren; Tarah (Kyler), Amanda, Casey (Matthew), Jaylin (Kurtis), and Christy. As well as his four great granddaughters, Everly, Preslie, Navy, and Bowie whom he adored.
He was welcomed home into Heaven by his wife, Brigitte “Bea” Courtney, his Pony, Jake, and many other cherished family members who went before him.
