Carole M. Carne

Sep 26, 1944 — May 26, 2026

Formerly of Conneaut Lake

Carole M. Carne (Gross), 81, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in The Villages, Florida, following a brief illness. She was formerly of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.

Born on September 26, 1944, in Union City, Pennsylvania, Carole was the daughter of the late David M. and Evelyn Lopus Gross. She was a graduate of Union City Joint High School. Early in her career, she worked at Wolff’s Hardware in Meadville before going on to build a dedicated and successful career as a cost accountant with Greenleaf Corporation, where she worked from 1987 until her retirement in 2011.

Carole had a deep and lifelong love of flowers, a passion she inherited from her parents. She found great joy in gardening and was an active member of multiple garden clubs, always eager to talk with others about flowers and planting whenever she had the opportunity.

Above all, Carole was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her cherished children, Christine Mielecki of Mercer, Pennsylvania, and David Carne (Kim) of Fruitland Park, Florida. She was a proud grandmother to Alyssa Carne, Julianne Mielecki (fiancé, Gage Cornell), Angela Carne, and David Carne, and a loving great-grandmother to Adalynn Cornell.

In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her siblings: Nancy Ellen Gross, Barbara June Rindfuss, Martha Jane Brace, Elsie M. Brace, and LeRoy Gross.

A memorial service to celebrate Carole’s life and legacy is planned for July 12th from 1-4 at the Mill Village Volunteer Fire Department (Station 12) located at 14408 N Main St, Mill Village, PA 16427.
