Betty L. Harkleroad

Betty L. Harkleroad June 15, 1920 - April 4, 2011 Betty L. Harkleroad, 90, formerly of Hartstown, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Paul’s in Greenville where she had resided for over a year. Born June 15, 1920 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Edgar and Hazel Dent Schoening. She married Lloyd Harkleroad on August 16, 1941; he preceded her in death on February 25, 1994. She attended Linesville Presbyterian Church. Betty worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star Faith Chapter 478 in Cleveland, Ohio. Also, she was a member of the Espyville Senior Citizen’s and served as a secretary there. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting: Survivors include her son, Dennis Harkleroad and his wife, Beverly, of Hartstown; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Harkleroad of Coatsville; a brother, Gordon Schoening and his wife, Marianne, of Strongsville, Ohio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Harkleroad; two sons, Sonny Harkleroad and Kevin Harkleroad; and two brothers, Jack Schoening and Raymond Schoening. As per her request, cremation was chosen and there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, Pa 16335.
