Betty Anne Fry, 87, of Conneautville, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born January 22, 1928, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Sherman M. and Gertrude Lucetta Becker Tarr. She married Robert Thompson in 1946. Betty later married Vernon M. Fry on December 17, 1950; he preceded her in death on March 27, 1996.
She graduated from Cochranton High School in 1945 and from Erie Infants Home and Hospital in 1946.
Betty worked at Molded Fiber Glass in Linesville and also drove bus for Wallace Hyde and at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.
She was a member of the North Shenango Fire Police and the Crawford Hayfield Grange.
She had attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Meadville.
Betty was a devoted homemaker and loved her children very much. She liked traveling, crocheting, knitting, painting, other crafts. She enjoyed the Senior Center both in Meadville and Linesville where she played bingo.
Survivors include three sons, David Fry of Linesville, Daniel Fry of Espyville and Paul Fry of Hartstown; four daughters, Linda Dutcher of Meadville, Judith Winkle and her husband, Frank, of Meadville, Mary Lou Frantz and her husband, Ronald, of Conneautville where Betty had resided, Joyce Yunik and her husband, Jan, of Conneautville; three brothers, Homer Tarr and his wife, Dorothy, of Franklin, William Tarr of Franklin and Clarence Tarr and his wife, Joyce, of Guys Mills; 32 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon M. Fry; and five children, Mearl Fry, Daisy Daniels, Ruth Fry, Carol Moats and James Fry; two grandsons, Gary Fry and Frank Hyde; five brothers, Wallace, Robert, Donald, Sherman and Richard Tarr; and two sisters, Frances Reiser and Janet Cochran.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with W.D. Lubinecki officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg.
